Father and son team, Bill and Evan Ferguson, have opened a new, hand-built recording studio in West Kelowna. The shiny new recording studio is called Empire Sonic, and has already started working with over 15 bands. The studio cost $100,000 to build and a year of construction to convert their garage into a respectable music production outlet. The Ferguson’s dream was actualized with help from Community Futures Development Corporation who approved a $40,000 loan.
Bill and Evan Ferguson’s vision for the studio is to make it a “stay and play” studio, where traveling musicians can stop over for a day or two at their house while doing their recording. They have recently worked with local band Twin Towns on developing an EP. Those who have visited thus far have described Empire Sonic Recording Studios as impressive.
